Guided trout fishing on the Eramosa River
The Eramosa is a small river that runs through Rockwood and Eden Mills on its way to the Speed River at Guelph. It is the opposite of the big water on the Grand: riffles, undercut banks and pools under the trees, where the trout see a careless wader long before they see a fly.
That is what makes it good. On water this size the day is about reading small structure, getting into position quietly and making one accurate cast count — skills that make you better on every river afterwards.
It is also the closest of our trout rivers to Guelph and the west side of the GTA, which makes it an easy half day.

Seasons and regulations
Trout trips run from the fourth Saturday in April to October 1.
May and June are the strongest months. In July and August a small river warms quickly, so we fish early and cool water, and shorten or move a trip rather than fish trout in water too warm to release them safely. September brings the fishing back with cooling water.
Open seasons, sanctuary stretches and special rules vary by river and by section, and they change. Always check the current Ontario Fishing Regulations Summary for the water you are fishing. On a guided day, Sasha picks water that is legally open and in shape for the conditions.
We do not publish specific pools, runs or access points. That is deliberate — the water Sasha relies on stays fishable because it is not broadcast. You will learn it on the river.

Where is the Eramosa River?
It runs through Rockwood and Eden Mills, east of Guelph in Wellington County, and joins the Speed River in Guelph — which in turn joins the Grand.
What trout are in the Eramosa?
Mainly brown trout, with brook trout in the cooler reaches. It is small-river trout fishing: fewer giants than the Grand, and a lot of rewarding, technical water.
Eramosa or the Grand?
The Grand at Fergus and Elora is big, open tailwater with room to cast. The Eramosa is small and intimate, where the approach matters more than the cast. Different days — say which appeals and we will match it.
When can we fish it?
Trout trips run from the fourth Saturday in April to October 1. May and June are the strongest months; in July and August a small river warms quickly, so we fish early and move or shorten a trip rather than stress fish in warm water.
